CleanOpsStaff-3ed Migration
Steps For Migrating to CleanOpsStaff-3ed
Print and read all of these instructions including the notes before starting your migrating process.
Download, install and activate
CleanOpsStaff-3ed following instructions at the
Get CleanOpsStaff-3ed link in the left panel of the web site. Do
not uninstall the
Old-Edition CleanOpsStaff and do
not delete any of the
Old-Edition CleanOpsStaff files or folders
Backup all of your Old-Edition CleanOpsStaff files and folders to a seperate drive
Copy all files you have created in the C:\CleanOpsStaff Data folder to the C:\CleanOpsStaff-3ed Data folder. Do not copy the Old-Edition CleanOpsStaff training files
If you have inventory and audit files in other folders, create a new folder for each of them and add "-3ed" to the folder name (for example, if you have a folder named 'West University', then create and new folder named 'West University-3ed'). Copy files from the 'West University' folder to the 'West University-3ed' folder.
If you use a PDA or Mobile device with your Old-Edition CleanOpsStaff, then copy files you created from the C:\CleanOpsStaff-ProMobile Data folder to the C:\CleanOpsStaff-3ed-ProMobile Data folder
You can now use the files in the newly created folders with CleanOpsStaff-3ed. The first time you load the inventory file with CleanOpsStaff-3ed, you will get a prompt informing you that if you save the file you will no longer be able to read it with the Old-Edition CleanOpsStaff. However, it will be saved under the CleanOpsStaff-3ed format and can be used by multiple users who share permission to the same drive without conflict.
NOTES:
CleanOpsStaff-3ed is not an upgrade. It is a brand new edition of the application. It will be installed on your computer as a seperate and different program from the Old-Edition CleanOpsStaff. You can keep both the Old-Edition CleanOpsStaff and CleanOpsStaff-3ed on the same computer and run them independent of each other
When you load an Old-Edition CleanOpsStaff inventory file into CleanOpsStaff-3ed, the new standard matrices will be applied to all spaces in your inventory that are currently assigned one of the 33 standard matrices. However, your local category matrices will be loaded with the inventory file unchanged and spaces assigned a local category matrix will be unchanged. If you want to update your local categories to reflect the new third edition cleaning time for tasks you selected from the APPA task list, you will need to manually edit your local category matrices.
Any PDA or Mobile device that was activated under an Old-Edition CleanOpsStaff product code will function with CleanOpsStaff-3ed in the same manner as it functions with the Old -Edition CleanOpsStaff, however, you will need to continue to use the Old-Edition CleanOpsStaff to perform administrative functions on ProMobile-PDA on the mobile device unless you get a CleanOpsStaff-3ed mobile device code.
