How to download and Install CleanOpsStaff Files
It is highly recommended that you click this link (Help Getting Started) and print and read the Help Getting Started "CleanOpsStaff Program Administration Help" pdf files to get started in using CleanOpsStaff.
Note: CleanOpsStaff has been tested with Microsoft Internet Explorer and the following Operating System/Excel Version combinations and works best in 1280 x 768 or 1024 x 768 screen resolution:
Windows XP/Excel 2002 (Excel 2002 may require updating from Microsoft. Even thourgh CleanOpsStaff has been tested with Excel 2002, since there are only a few Excel 2002 users, there may be issues with CleanOpsStaff running with Excel 2002 that have not been uncovered yet. Excel 2003, Excel 2007, or Excel 2010 is highly recommended for running CleanOpsStaff.)
Note: You will NOT need the Windows UnZip program. The EXE format will self-extract and automatically create two folders in root of your "C\" drive (C:\CleanOpsStaff Program Files and C:\CleanOpsStaff Data). It is recommended that you print this page before starting your download and Installation.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please review CleanOpsStaff Presentation (PDF) or CleanOpsStaff Presentation (PowerPoint) and the Featues, Upgrades and Pricing Matrix before purchasing CleanOpsStaff to fully understand the basic features that come with the Product Code from APPA and the Upgrade Add-on you can obtain from Hunter Consulting and Training. IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to keep the price of CleanOpsStaff and its upgrades as low as possible, Hunter Consulting and Training is not able to grant refunds after purchases are made. It is very important that you fully review each product before making your purchase. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have not been granted Administration Rights on your computer you will need to have your IT staff perform the download and installation. It is recommended that your IT staff give you temporary Admin rights to perform the download and installation and then remove the rights after the software has been installed by running Setup. This will register the installation under your computer Login Name. If you do not have Admin Rights for your computer, please review with your IT staff the Granting Permission for Shared Users to Run CleanOpsStaff on the Same Computer section in the Help Getting Started file. If your IT staff prefer not to give you temporary Admin Rights and installs the software under a Login Name different from your Login Name, then refer to in the Granting Permission for Shared Users to Run CleanOpsStaff on the Same Computer Help Getting Started document. | | 2. Click Run. | 3. Click Run again at the Unknow Publisher Security Warning box. Click OK and Yes if prompted to do so. Allow time for the files to download from the server to your computer. | 4. After reading the prompt box. Click Ok. IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not use the Browse button. Do not change the "Unzip to folder" input box. Accept the default extract location of "C:\". | 5. Click the Unzip button to unzip the files to your hard drive. Click the Close button after the files are unzipped successfully. | 6. Now use the normal Windows File Explorer to open the C:\CleanOpsStaff Program Files folder. NOTE: You can also open this folder in Windows File Explorer by (a) clicking Windows START button in lower left of your screen; (b) click RUN; (c) type or paste into C:\CleanOpsStaff Program Files into the input box; (d) click OK. | 7. Double click "Setup.exe" and if your computer already has Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 installed, Setup will begin to install CleanOpsStaff and you can skip to step 9. Most computer will already have .Net Framework 3.5 installed. | 8. CleanOpsStaff requires Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 to run, If your computer does not already have Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 installed: a. You will be asked to download it. b. The CleanOpsStaff-V1.0 Setup dialog box will appear asking you to accept the Microsoft License Agreement for .NET Framework 3.5 c. Click "Accept" d. Depending on your security package you may be asked to allow access to the internet. Select "Automatically create firewall rule" or allow always and click OK e. The download progress box will appear while .NET Framework 3.5 is downloading This might take as long as 10 to 45 minutes depending on the current configuration of your computer. You may be asked to allow internet access again. If so respond as in step d. There will be time when your computer will seem inactive while .Net Framework 3.5 configures itself . Please be patience and do not cancel or abort this process!!! -- go get a cup of coffee. Many other programs require .Net Framework 3.5 but you will only have to install it once for the first program you install that needs it and you will never have to install it again.
b. When .Net Framework finish configuration, your computer might need to be rebooted. If reboot is required, the installation will resume at step 9 after the re-boot. | 9. Depending on your security package the Application Install - Security Warning dialog box will appear informing you that the "Publisher cannot be verified. Are you sure you want to install this application?" Click "Install." Click OK each time you are prompted to do so. | | 10. CleanOpsStaff will be installed and the CleanOpsStaff Program Manager will be launched. | | 11. Depending on your Security Package you may be asked to allow CleanOpsStaff access to the internet. Select Allow Always and click OK. | | 12. You may now run CleanOpsStaff in Demo mode if you have not purchased a product code | | 13. If you have purchased a product code you may request an Activation Key so that you can run CleanOpsStaff in full feature mode. You can obtain a Product Code from APPA bookstore by purchasing APPA's Custodial Staffing Guidelines for Educational Facilities Second Edition/CleanOpsStaff Package. With your Product Code and Activation Key use the Program Activation form to activate CleanOpsStaff | | 14. A shortcut to CleanOpsStaff will be added to your Start button under Hunter Consulting and Training. To run CleanOpsStaff in the future click Start, click All Programs, click Hunter Consulting and Training and then click CleanOpsStaff. Or double click CleanOpsStaff-V1.0.Application in the CleanOpsStaff Program Files folder. You may also place a shortcut of CleanOpsStaff on your desktop and pin it into your Start menu if you wish. | | 15. It is highly recommended that your first step after downloading and installing CleanOpsStaff be to click the "Help Getting Started" button in the Program Manager and print out and read the pdf document that will open after clicking the "Help Getting Started" button. |
